missing monsoon back in kerala

12 June 2010

It is another evening at my home in London.

It is World cup time!! It is 'woka woka' everywhere. Time for Africa, my dream place to visit. Now starting the England vs US within few minutes.

I am sitting in my cozy sofa, with my legs stretched over to my husband's lap (who is deeply in the football), and writing my first post in the blog. Well, this blog is just to share the thoughts "the moments, the memories and the thousands of seasons of my heart"....

Welcome to my blog :)

Now the heavy feeling inside me is the terrible missing of monsoon back in kerala. The time of childhood in the kerala home keeps coming back to me every moment. Last one week, everyday, after coming back from work (from my one of the so-called banking companies in London, yeah, I have lot to say about it...some other time! ), the first thing I did was to search for monsoon photos in kerala. The time I used to go to school on June 1st in full rain. By the time I reach school, the colour of my not-so-costly dress used to start drip. That was a wonderful walk, showing the new dress to everybody on the way to school.... I am sure I am making you nostalgic too. I cannot just wait to go back to the same scene of sitting in the varanda with legs stretching out, with black tea and chakka puzhukku.... Jack fruit is my all time favourite!!!

I know I am just one of those malayalis who go out of kerala leaving behind the memories and make their home outside. Malayalis are becoming selfish and selfish every day. They are cutting trees and making big big houses!! They are making their courtyard concrete and buy the vegetables from shop, which they can easily grow at home. They are exploiting the beautiful kerala every inch of it. They are not thinking about the future generations other than their kids now. Hmm..... I am also one of them who mourn over the fate of kerala.. who thinks of kerala with all the nostalgia but deeply get hurt seeing the selfish people out there.

I am just pondering over the thoughts, accepting the fact that I will NOT be going to kerala for this monsoon, I will be just enjoying the summer here.  It is summer now, it is nice to go out, it is nice to sit inside our home. I am not denying that I am enjoying my home in london, at all. My this house in london is my sweet home, where I started living with my husband.

I can see the park just near to my home almost empty now. Well, now England plays. Everybody is in front of TV. I am not an ardent follower of all these, even though I respect the game.

And, now time for me to make a thakkali mappasu curry.. :). See you!!!!
